Recording Monuments Moor
Leeds (UK), 2019
Film

A film documenting a series of recording performances undertaken with Samra Mayanja. The performance involved using clay to take impression moulds of the re-situated Victorian statues on Woodhouse Moor, Leeds. These include the Memorial to Queen Victoria, the Statue of the Duke of Wellington and Sir Robert Peel, all relocated from outside Leeds Town Hall in 1937 to make way for a car park, and Henry Rowland Marsden, moved in 1952 from the junction of Merrion Street and Albion Street, deemed a hindrance to increased road traffic.

The work was exhibited as part of Parallel Architectures IIIII (2019) at Leeds Town Hall as part of INDEX during the Yorkshire Sculpture International.
