Recording Performance Woodhouse Moor
Leeds (UK), 2019
Film
Film documenting a series of recording performances, undertaken with Samra Mayanja. The performance involved the use of clay to take impression moulds from the re-situated Victorian statues on Woodhouse Moor, Leeds. These include the Memorial to Queen Victoria, Statue of the Duke of Wellington and Sir Robert Peel all re-located from outside Leeds Town Hall in 1937 to make way for a car park, and Henry Rowland Marsden re-located in 1952 from the junction of Merrion Street and Albion Street, deemed a hindrance to increased road traffic.
The work was exhibited as part of Parallel Architectures IIIII (2019) at Leeds Town Hall as part of INDEX during the Yorkshire Sculpture International.
